Samuel's journey into the world of seafaring began in his formative years, spent sailing along the serene South coast of the UK. At the age of 18, he earned his Yacht Master certification, marking the commencement of his maritime career as he joined his first vessel.

His career path has led him to explore various corners of the world, including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and the Indian Ocean. Samuel has had the privilege of working on several prestigious vessels, garnering experience and expertise along the way. Throughout his career, Samuel diligently climbed the ranks, dedicating his free time to continuous learning and self-improvement in the maritime sector, eventually achieving the title of Master 3000GT.

In his leisure hours, Samuel is often found engrossed in studies, working towards a diploma in Marine Accident Investigation, with aspirations of a future Master's Degree in ships' operational management. When not immersed in academia, he enjoys skiing, golfing, and partaking in friendly games of Padel with his Friends. Captain Sam's warm and friendly demeanour is sure to put you at ease on board Arion. Drawing upon his extensive charter experience, he places utmost importance on safety, security, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Meet Nick, our seasoned Mate and qualified PADI Scuba Instructor, whose roots trace back to the captivating shores of Cape Town, nestled between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Nick's upbringing in the diverse landscapes of South Africa shaped his deep affinity for the water.

During his formative years, he cherished weekends spent with family and friends, engrossed in the world of fishing, wakeboarding, and a spectrum of aquatic sports. Following an academic journey that led him to a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Stellenbosch University, Nick embarked on a transformative expedition to Sodwana Bay, situated along the southeastern African coast. Here, amidst the inviting azure waters, he discovered his passion for scuba diving. Nick's enthusiasm led him to attain the status of a specialty instructor, sharing his expertise at numerous dive schools and enlightening clients of all nationalities and age groups with the wonders of the underwater realm.

Deeply moved by the ocean's critical role in our world's health, Nick furthered his impact by dedicating his efforts to marine education and lecturing at a conservation camp. Beyond his maritime pursuits, Nick's interests extend to videography, free diving, and a penchant for teaching and partaking in an array of sports. We are fortunate to have Nick as a valued member of our crew, and he is eager to guide you on an enchanting journey into the mesmerizing underwater world.

His culinary expertise extends to incorporating molecular gastronomy techniques, and he is well-versed in the nuances of Asian cuisine. Nikolas possesses the remarkable ability to cater to the diverse dietary needs of our guests, including vegetarians, vegans, and individuals with diabetes, ensuring that every meal is tailored to specific preferences and requirements.

Engineer Caner, originally hailing from Turkey, embarked on his maritime journey 18 years ago, commencing his career aboard cargo ships that traversed the globe. His seafaring adventures led him to distant corners of the world, offering him a wealth of experience and insight. In 2008, Caner's path led him to the yachting industry, a passion he wholeheartedly embraced upon settling in Mallorca, where he now resides with his cherished wife and family.

Before becoming an integral part of Arion's team in 2022, Caner's career was defined by his unwavering commitment to ensuring the impeccable maintenance and seamless operation of a diverse array of vessels.

His meticulous attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction set him apart as a consummate professional. Additionally, Caner has played a vital role in enhancing the safety and overall experience for guests by actively participating on deck, aiding in the safe launching of jetskis, tenders, and ensuring the utmost safety of all onboard.

Beyond the confines of the engine room, Caner undergoes a fascinating transformation, trading his tools for culinary implements as he indulges in culinary experimentation in the kitchen. His multi-faceted talents and passion for both engineering and cooking make him a remarkable addition to the Arion crew.

Alexia was born on the northeast coast of South Africa and spent her childhood growing up in Zululand, near the warm Indian Ocean, and in Cyprus, in the Mediterranean. Growing up in two such pristine places ignited an early formed love for water-based activities. From deep sea fishing in the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean from childhood, weekends spent camping by the beach doing watersports, and an early fascination with the underwater world, Alexia is more than comfortable around the water. After a wonderfully active and outdoors based childhood, Alexia moved across the country to Cape Town after high school to pursue her BSc in Oceanography and Environmental/Geographical Science.

During her university years, she nurtured a love for scuba and freediving and continued to learn and grow her hobby. Among other hobbies, Alexia has been a competitive tennis player and still enjoys playing casually when she can. She enjoys staying fit, studying health and nutrition, and loves to prepare and share meals for her friends and family.

After university, Alexia decided to pursue yachting as a career, and apart from a small break to gain other managerial experience ashore, she has been in the industry since. Alexia has previously worked on a larger charter vessel and is keen to provide you with exemplary standards and an incredibly smooth, relaxing, and fun time aboard.
